Grain Valley, Missouri: This Saturday Night at Valley Speedway, The 6th Annual Helm Memorial takes place for the Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Car Series.
While some of the best drivers and teams in Heartland non winged sprint car racing will be on hand for this event that honors the memory of the late John E. Helm, patriarch of the Helm racing family.
This race has been a favorite at Valley Speedway since 2018, and has become one of the top events on the MWRA calendar since 2020 when this USAC series was formed.
In 2023 the Helm Memorial will also bring additional cash incentives courtesy of Lies Trash Service in Blue Springs, and John Helm the son of the late John E. Helm, known more affectionately as the “Colonel” after his stint in the USMC, and his time as a auctioneer before his untimely passing in 2016.
Lies Trash Service is bumping up the winners share to $2500, and another 1,000 to be distributed to 10 drivers who will be selected at random from the field Saturday night. While John Helm will also be handing out several cash incentives throughout the field at the 6th Annual Helm Memorial.
Drivers that may compete include top 10 chauffeurs in MWRA points, Wyatt Burks 1st, Chris Parkinson 2nd, Chad Winfrey 3rd, Brad Wyatt 4th, Dakota Earls 5th, Justin Johnson 6th, Zach Clark 7th, Buddy Parker 8th, Luke Howard 9th Kory Schudy 10th, and Wesley Smith 11th. While other drivers of note will include Garrett Hulsey, Tom Curran, Michael Moore, Jack Wagner, Samuel Wagner, Warren Johnson, and Lance Silvers among others.
